Dried Flower Workshops

November 2025 Newsletter

Greetings from STILL WATERS FARM AND GARDENS!

We wrapped up October with plenty of work around the farm preparing for 2026. The Anemones, Ranunculus, Sweet Peas and Hardy Annuals are already starting to sprout. This year, we added some extra protection around the Ranunculus and Sweet Peas to help fend off the little critters that seem to use our plantings as a buffet. This coming month, our fall preparations will continue with a cleanup and covering of the Dahlias, planting Tulips and beginning the annual weeding of the Peonies. The highlight for this month will be our Dried Flower Workshop and Farm Tour on November 22. Keep reading to learn more about these upcoming activities.

Operation “Stay Out of the Beds”

One lesson we have learned over the years of farming is that everything planted will eventually be investigated by a variety of animals. And if the animals like what they see, it will then disappear. So this year, we have established 2 areas with maximum security measures to protect the Sweet Peas and the Ranunculus. Once each have grown enough to reach the top of the protection, then we will remove the security fencing.
