Feb 21 Tunnels Covered - Banner.JPG

Greetings from STILL WATERS FARM AND GARDENS!

This time of year is important for a Flower Farm to get organized and prepared for the upcoming season of blooms. The weather has been wet and cold the first part of 2021, but this has not stopped us from completing the many farm chores that need to be done during winter months. These chores range from cleaning up debris that has gathered throughout the previous year to starting tray upon tray of seeds to be ready for the forthcoming season. One month of 2021 has passed and things are starting to ramp up on the farm. We hope you enjoy this update from our farm and our current offerings.

Update on Growing Flowers

Our caterpillar tunnels and low tunnels are full of rapidly growing plants that will soon be blooming. The first to appear have been the vibrant Anemones. We are expecting bloom colors in eye-popping shades of Red, Pink, Blue and White. After Anemones, the elegant Ranunculus will be bursting forth. In the field, under low tunnels, our rows of Hardy Annuals are preparing for their turn to be on display. The Hardy’s include Ammi/Dara, Bachelor Buttons, Cerinthe, Dianthus, Larkspur, Nigella and Orlaya. Also expected to arrive soon are the delicate and delightful blooms of Daffodils. The yellow, white and orange colored flowers are sure to brighten up these cloudy gray winter days. Follow us on one of our social media sites - Instagram and Facebook - to see when each of these flowers are in their prime.
